The following poem is courtesy of my best friend =) My muse still hasn't lost her touch!

Looking back at the pictures of yester-year
The big round glasses and the flowery dresses
we vow to never make the same fashion mistakes

Changing our styles and picking fashion to follow
we strive to create the always-in look that belongs to us
and ended up with jeans and a top, the look that never fades
my best friend said
if i look back at myself 20 years down the road
i think my style is still ok, just geeky but not too bad

and i say it really all depends, on the fashion trend down the road
even jeans might have faded from fashion, but I certainly do not hope so
perhaps we might really have achieved, the never out of fashion look
this we can only verify, 20 years down the road

A Special Moment

I wrote about proposals previously, prompted by a series of incidents..

But this poem is specially dedicated to my best friend..

For it is with his upcoming wedding in mind that I write this..

The biggest wedding of the year

In my most humble opinion

Is that of my best friend's

Lavish not in expense

But in the ardor and warmth

Encircling the bride and groom

Drawing friends into the circle

Of intimate connection they share

As they celebrate their affection

Enchanting their guests

As they joyously memorialize

The affirmation of their commitment

Magic danced that special night

As the brilliant stars and moon

Stand witness to their eternal love

My best friend recently asked me to update my blog.

Actually, that got me stumped bcoz it's been awhile since my muse struck me..

I find that this poem doesn't really rhyme well..

But.... This is dedicated to my best friend =)

Ever wondered what it is about a person

That allows you to click so well

And get on like a house on fire?

By some quirk of fate we met

Serendipitously we became great friends

With extreme luck we clicked

Every moment in your company

Brings a smile to my face

You bring laughter into my life

Your enthusiasm is catchy

Your care and concern warming

Your friendship priceless

Life isn't fair uncle =p

Your uniqueness and idiosyncrasy

Is impossible to match

Hard it is to express my thoughts

Partings

Although she has found a nicer poem to use, I’ve decided to keep this for it was written with our friend in mind.

Every meeting brings new friends
Do you remember how long ago we've met

Days long ago when our faces were wrinkle-free
When our toughest questions were
"What shall we have for lunch today?"

Days long ago when our innocence intact
When our most arduous questions were
"How do you think the system will behave?"

How quickly time has flown
Lining our hairs with white
Killing more brain cells as it pass

Every parting weighs down hearts

Countless days of fun and laughter

Land of the Thunder Dragon
A fantasy, a dream
A fairyland where dakinis reside

Restless with anticipation
We boarded our flight
Sleepless were the previous nights

With the dawning day ahead
Our rosy cheeks on our sleepy face
Bespoke the eagerness of our hearts

The melodious voice of our pilot
Heightened all our senses
As we feasted on Everest's majestic view

Cottons of clouds weave their spells
As the steward charmed our hearts
A perfect breakfast to start the day

Delightful traditional Paro Airport
Mesmerized us with its charms
Beauty of a past frozen in time

Our jovial friendly guide greeted us
A traditional greeting of warm welcome
And we're off to an adventure in time

The grandeur of ancient ruins
Tell its tales of an ancient time
The unification of a kingdom to come

Painstaking details in its architecture
Speak of a country filled with love and pride
In its culture, people and religion

Grand magnificent dzong khas aplenty
Captured our wandering eyes
As did humble, equally charming monasteries

A tiny beautiful intricate palace
Towered over by looming mountains
Speaks the wisdom and humility of a handsome king

Wilderness sends us its wondrous gifts
Of tiny sweet strawberries
And an ever cool dreamy mist

Light drizzles start our days
Bringing blessings with each raindrop
Lightly, gently caressing our cheeks

As the rainbow spreads its wings
Across the valleys and mountain tops
Greenery greets us at every turn

Exhilarated by endless plains of greens
Invigorated by refreshing cool winds
We trampled about with joy

Spell-bound and bewitched
By the mountain's soothing tranquility
We sat side by side in silent solitude

Infused by a tingling feeling of peace
Intoxicated by the dreamy solitude
We are lulled to sleep

Sharing Dreams

Another new avatar on his messenger!
This one took my breath away
For it is of my current fav
KungFu Panda by Dreamworks

He is depicted as a panda
Dreaming continuously of food
A gigantic burger and lots of juicy buns
Fill his thought bubble
While his mouth works non stop
Chewing on bamboo shoots

A cute little girl leans on him
His wide round soft tummy
Provides the ideal cushioning for her
As she idly reads a book

Dreaming of their honeymoon soon to come
Of the days they will spend in the sun
Bumming on the beach chairs
And tanning under a coconut tree
With the clear blue sea close by
As the cool sea breeze drifts past

What a mesmerizing picture
Of the dreams they share
So full of teasing details
Yet as cute as it possibly can be

A lovely wedding

Flowers strewn all across the room
White against green, the picture of elegance
Delicious yummy chocolates aplenty
A rainbow of colours, as striking as the bride

The perfect wedding cake
Blossoming red, the color of romance
The pair of unique wedding band
A glitter of gold, a circle of unending love

Ribbons, laces and twines everywhere
Bringing a soft touch to the event
A small little beautiful booklet
Tell of their love story with no end

An atmosphere of joy and anticipation
Against the cool, calm serenity of the park
Happiness and elation fill all hearts
As guests gather for the ceremony

The exchange of wedding vows
Bring to eyes the tears of joy
And in the skies above
Rains of abundance shower down

The goofy smile on the groom
Complement the dazzling smile on the bride's
The affection and chemistry between them
Sizzles as they celebrate their love

A perfect wedding it was
The start of another chapter in their story
Two hearts beating as one
Creating memories to infinity and beyond
